- I designed this baby’s room in the countryside several months before the baby was born. We had enough time to discuss who would like what and how. I had to make this room unique, taking into account at the same time that it was part of the Classicistic environment of the whole house. An eared armchair may come in handy even when one happens to breastfeed. The table is an old piece, nevertheless, for the sake of unity, we treated its surface with the same colour paint as we used for the individual shelves. The “mansion-style” wooden floor, which had been made on the basis of an old design, was already given, thus – working with homogeneous colours – we did not take away from its beauty either.
- The room was supplemented with an individually designed, comfortable pull-out couch/sofa bed. The textile is sand-coloured, striped, just like the wallpaper.
- The given space, the homogeneity and playfulness of colours as well as softness were important. Thus the textiles were made in duplicate: they let the light through and provide a frame for the three windows at the same time.
- You can see different children’s rooms in the two pictures: what is common in them is functionality, softness, and respect for the newcomer. In the picture on the right a canopy was placed over the individually designed couch as well.
- This room awaited the newborn Gergő. In the course of its decoration, I was guided mainly by practicality and functionality.
- Apparently, both Gergő and the teddy bears have a wonderful time in this paradise, to Gergő’s mom’s greatest pleasure.
- Like with everything else, details are important here as well: the Indonesian rocking horse and mirror frame in the pictures were hand carved and hand painted.
- The beige-coloured armchair with a foot rest, whose shade is in harmony with the wall tapestry and the many, many teddy bears, looks especially good next to the white walls.
